Restaurants in Kyrenia

As Kyrenia is the most visited town in Northern Cyprus and the most popular with locals and tourists alike it is unsurprising that it has some of the best restaurants in the whole of North Cyprus.

There’s such an abundance of cafes and restaurants offering a wide selection of dining styles, cooking styles and menu options that there really is something for everyone who visits Kyrenia.

The most popular part of the town is of course the harbour and the Harbour Group have a number of establishments offering different dining options along the front including Harbour Pizza and the Harbour Club Restaurant. Look out for the other independent restaurateurs along the front as well as they all offer decent food, a pleasant ambience, good service and of course, unrivalled views.

However, in my opinion you have to leave the harbour area to experience fine dining and the best restaurants in Kyrenia. If you simply take a walk up into the old town you will be struck by how many tiny cafes, restaurants and bars are tucked away down the old streets which run up from the harbour and round the mosque area. You can try Luciano’s for excellent Italian food, East Meets West for delicious Indian food, The Cactus Bar for decent and simple pub grub fare, The Set Restaurant for possibly the most fantastic, intimate and romantic outdoor setting any restaurant can offer or The Brasserie for incredible interiors!

For traditional Turkish Cypriot food you don’t have to venture much further afield, you have Beyti’s, Padisah and Niazi’s all offering the likes of mezes, kebabs, pilaf, kofke, dolma etc., and all are within easy walking distance of the small centre of Kyrenia.

For fast food, take away or family restaurants in Kyrenia then of course Ezic and Passport chicken restaurants are the best options. Ezic is on the main through road towards Lapta in Kyrenia with Passport down the side street opposite Ezic. Expect excellent service, decent simple food, and incredible value for money as well as a warm welcome for all the family and a takeaway and delivery service.

Roxanne’s Bar & Grill offers few healthy options but a mean steak with decent sized portions and a good atmosphere, Roxanne’s is part of the Rocks hotel. Efendi’s offers a sumptuous menu, elegant surroundings, friendly staff and is located deep within the back streets opposite The Colony Hotel.

If you want pub food and a traditional pub atmosphere you can try The Swallow or The Marlborough or if you just want a relaxing coffee, a piece of cake and to watch the world go by try Coffee World...their hazelnut and chocolate cake is the best!
