Escaping the British Weather in Search of North Cyprus Sunshine

Escaping the British Weather in Search of North Cyprus SunshineUnless you’re immune to the gloom, by now the lack of a British summer may well be getting to you!  It’s the middle of July and apart from a couple of sunny days in May, the clouds have yet to lift and the temperatures have yet to rise in the UK.  Apparently we may be on track for a glorious September, but if you don’t want to take the risk that the weatherman’s got it wrong again, may we make a suggestion?

In this article we look at escaping the British weather in search of North Cyprus sunshine, and we take you on a trip round the beautiful destination that is TRNC and inspire you to reserve your flights and book your villa accommodation now!

The whole island of Cyprus has been having a bit of a heat wave – it’s naturally hot at this time of the year in that part of the world, but in 2008 temperatures have been soaring.  The searing summer heat started melting the hearts of tourist arrivals way back as early as March and April, and now that it is mid-summer, temperatures are in the 30s every single day.  This means that if you visit Northern Cyprus between now and the middle of October, you will be pretty much guaranteed daily sunshine so intense that you can sunbathe to your heart’s content, swim, snorkel and enjoy all the best bits about Cyprus.

One of the most enticing things about a warm climate is being able to dine al fresco for every meal.  Imagine waking up and walking out onto your terrace or balcony with a cup of coffee and sitting and watching the perfectly calm waters of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea before you.  Imagine lunching with friends overlooking Kyrenia harbour or perhaps enjoying a picnic on the beach with the family.  And then, after a long and lazy day in the sunshine you can take a shower, relax on your terrace beside the swimming pool with a cocktail before dining at one of the myriad fine restaurants that North Cyprus has in abundance.  You can enjoy your meal surrounded by the heady scents of jasmine and watch the lazy moon rise over the dramatic Kyrenia mountain peaks.

That could be your daily reality if you left the UK’s sun starved shores and travelled on holiday to Northern Cyprus.

If lazing by the pool, sunbathing on the beach, snorkelling in the sea and lazy meal breaks begin to bore you after a few days and you want a bit more fun on holiday there is something for everyone in North Cyprus.  If you want history and culture you can explore the famous crusader castles, the museums, ruins and relics that historically rich North Cyprus has in abundance.  Visit the tourism information kiosks that are in all the major towns or pick up leaflets left in your hotel or villa for more information.

If you like retail therapy there is a nightly market on the harbour in Kyrenia and the town is packed with gift, clothing and jewellery stores.  You can visit North Nicosia and take a stroll around the magnificent market or cross the border at Ledra and have a Starbucks in south Cyprus!  For those who are into sports you can wakeboard, sail and scuba, paraglide, jetski or ride a banana boat, you can go cross country on a quadbike, hire a mountain bike or go to the go kart track.  There is an activity available for everyone…and if the weather should turn nasty or you have just had too much sun, why not visit the Vaha spa or go to the cinema?

Northern Cyprus has something for everyone and what’s more, it has GUARANTEED fabulous summertime weather!  With the school holidays upon us, isn’t it time you treated all the family to some feel good weather and some fun?  Then where better to head than the Med, and where better to holiday than Northern Cyprus?!
